What minimum standards could look like
Later this year, the Australian Government will propose new laws to impose minimum standards for some trucking businesses.
The last national attempt at minimum standards – the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal – was not successful, although some states have regulated owner driver contracts for years.
Our minimum standards session will discuss—
- the likely design of the new system
- the businesses that could be covered
- how the standards could be set
- the system’s potential overlap with other laws, including unfair contracts and the national truck laws.
