In the eastern states and South Australia, the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) regulates vehicle standards, inspections, how defects are cleared and truck access to the road system.
The law also imposes a primary safety duty on trucking businesses, industry customers and others, with substantial penalties.
Governments have agreed that the HVNL needs to be reformed to deliver ambitious safety and productivity benefits.
In this session, you’ll explore the changes that could affect vehicle manufacturing, servicing and maintenance, including the possible extension of the primary safety duty to truck and trailer manufacturers and repairers.
You’ll also be able to ask your questions and share your views through the TMC Online 2021 platform.
