In 2019, the ATA Industry Technical Council developed a prototype rigid drawbar converter dolly, after trucking businesses raised concerns about the dynamic issues associated with conventional hinged dollies.

Trucking businesses across Australia have now tried out the dolly. Smedleys Engineers has also evaluated its performance using inertial measurement units, strain gauges and GPS.

In our 3.00pm live session on 27 July, you’ll get the results of the engineering trial and find out how well the dolly performed.

Participants in the session will receive an early access copy of the engineering report on the trial, so you can decide if the concept is right for you.

The ATA’s rigid drawbar converter dolly was developed in partnership with industry suppliers and manufacturers MaxiTRANS, Bridgestone, Hendrickson, JOST, Wabco and Alcoa.
