Formerly known as the Cummins Scholarship, the Cummins Young Tech Award recognises young talent in the workshops of Australia’s trucking industry.

Proudly sponsored by Cummins since 2013, this initiative supports the next generation of apprentice and full heavy vehicle mechanics and service technicians. Beyond recognition, it provides valuable tools, resources and experience to help young professionals develop their industry skills, knowledge and network.

Three heavy vehicle apprentice mechanics and service technicians will have the opportunity to be hosted at the ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Conference (TMC) 2025 at its new home, the Melbourne Showgrounds from 14-15 October 2025 including:

• Full registration to TMC 25 providing access to all sessions, workshops and social events including the Castrol Gala Awards Dinner
• Return airfares (if the winner resides outside Victoria) and accommodation (if the winner resides >60kms from the conference venue)
• Guided tours of two Cummins Melbourne facilities
• Cummins merchandise pack
• VIP seating at the Castrol Gala Awards Dinner
• Cummins Young Tech Award certificate

Prize package components are NOT transferable.

Nominations for the Cummins Young Tech Award close at 11pm (Canberra time), Sunday 24 August 2025 and will not be accepted after the closing date.

This section is an integral part of the judging process. The ATA and Cummins urge nominators to provide detailed responses to each section and to pay close attention to the requirements for supporting documents and files.

Personal Attributes and Work Experience

• Describe the nominee’s character, interests and history in the heavy vehicle industry.
• Provide a brief description of how the nominee would benefit from being awarded this recognition.

Supporting Documents and Files

Nominations must be accompanied by a good quality, electronic photograph that can be used for publicity purpose.
