The National Sustainability Award, sponsored by Michelin Australia recognises trucking operators with a demonstrated commitment to reducing their environmental impact.
Conditions of Entry
In submitting this nomination, the person making the nomination affirms they have complied with the following conditions of entry:
The award is open to organisations which operate full-time in the Australian trucking industry.
Self-nominations are permitted.
The award is not open to individuals.
Nominations for this award close at 11pm (Canberra time), Sunday 16 August 2026 and will not be accepted after the closing date.
Selection Criteria
This section is an integral part of the judging process. The ATA along with the National Trucking Awards Judging Panel encourage and urge nominators to provide detailed responses to each section and to pay close attention to the requirements for supporting documents and files.
Overall
- Define the fleet operator’s overall sustainability strategy and explain how it is embedded into day-to-day transport operations.
Evidence
- Provide evidence of measurable fuel, emissions or energy efficiency improvements achieved through sustainable fleet management practices.
Technology
- Describe how technology, data and fleet management systems are used to monitor, manage and improve sustainability outcomes.
Measurability and Reporting
- Demonstrate how your organisation measures and reports its overall sustainability impact.
Tyre Selection and EOL
- Demonstrate how your organisation selects tyres, including retreads, and manages casing and tyre life extension to reduce fuel consumption, emissions and whole of life operating cost.
Tyre Pressure/ Fuel Economy
- If relevant, tell us how you manage tyre pressures, whether it’s through pre-trip inspections or technology. (bonus points)
Supporting Documents and Files
- Nominations must be accompanied by their company logo as a separate file that can be used for publicity purpose (jpg or high-resolution format).
- You are welcome to submit a video or photographs to support the nomination.
Judging process
Finalists might be required to participate in a videoconference with the judging panel in September 2026.
Prize
The winner receives:
- A $7.2K cash prize to fund a new or ongoing sustainability project
- Full registration to TMC 27 for the winner to present its sustainability initiative
- Promotion through the ATA’s owned and earned media (website, social media, Friday Facts newsletter and the trucking industry press).
Prize package inclusions are not transferable.
