The TRUCK TECH Training Excellence Award recognises trucking operators that demonstrate a commitment to strengthening their safety culture through training, development and workplace practices.
Conditions of Entry
In submitting this nomination, the person making the nomination affirms they have complied with the following conditions of entry:
The award is open to organisations which operate full-time in the Australian trucking industry.
Organisations may nominate themselves, but third-party ratification of the nomination’s claims is necessary. (e.g. insurer, compliance consultant/auditor).
The award is not open to individuals.
Previous winners of this award are not eligible.
Nominations for this award close at 11pm (Canberra time), Sunday 16 August 2026 and will not be accepted after the closing date.
Selection Criteria
This section is an integral part of the judging process. The ATA along with the National Trucking Awards Judging Panel encourage and urge nominators to provide detailed responses to each section and to pay close attention to the requirements for supporting documents and files.
Organisation Profile
Provide a snapshot of the nominated organisation. Write about its beginnings, relevant corporate achievements, etc.
Training Program Details
Q1 Define how long the training program has been operational and how it is implemented.
Q2 Define the objectives of your training program or initiative specifically addressing new entrants to the transport industry.
Q3 Define the training program strategy and identify key contributors and stakeholders.
Q4 Provide evidence of the program’s implementation including the number and percentage of employees and/or contractors who have participated in the training program.
Q5 What are the expected measurable outcomes of the training?
Q6 How does the program achieve a positive impact on the organisation’s safety or performance culture (even if the program is still in its infancy)?
Supporting Documents and Files
- Nominations must be accompanied by their company logo as a separate file that can be used for publicity purpose (jpg or high-resolution format).
- Nominations must be accompanied by a good quality, electronic photograph relevant to the program/initiative that can be used for publicity purpose.
- Provide 1–2 testimonials from employees or contractors who have benefited from the training program and can speak to its impact. Testimonials from the applicant submitting this application will not be considered.
Judging process
Finalists might be required to participate in a videoconference with the judging panel in September 2026.
Prize
Promotion through the ATA’s owned and earned media (website, social media, Friday Facts newsletter and the trucking industry press).
The winner receives a $5K cash prize for the following purposes:
- Staff training in a technical or non-technical area
- A business services package with a training consultancy or other training-related package
- Employee training incentives
Prize package inclusions are not transferable.
